It’s funny, I had just heard about 5-day radiation for the first time from a friend the very same day I got my breast cancer diagnosis. I was referred to Dr. Margolis, a surgeon who treated my primary care physician’s whole family. I absolutely fell in love with Dr. Margolis. Of course, I was in a total fog after getting the news, but he walked us through everything and not once did I feel like we were being rushed. He talked about 5-day radiation with SAVI and said he felt really confident it was going to be the best option for me.

Everything went pretty well with my treatment. I was pretty tired during the week of radiation, and I had some discomfort when the SAVI device was put in and removed, but it was all worth it to have my whole treatment over in 5 days. After the SAVI treatment, I started feeling better right away and was back to normal pretty quickly.

As long as you have good doctors, you have nothing to worry about. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Margolis and Dr. Linzer, my radiation oncologist, and the whole staff at South Florida Radiation Oncology. They are absolutely wonderful. Every time I walked in, there were hugs all around. I couldn’t have been in better hands. They treated me like their own mother.

I’m so happy I went with SAVI. It was so quick – it was over and done with before I knew it. I absolutely can’t see any other way to go. I started my radiation the week after Thanksgiving and hosted my annual Christmas party on December 17. I started playing golf again in January. I am cancer free. What more can I ask for?
