In June 2011, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was scared, overwhelmed, and worried. I could not yet see all the blessings which were to come my way.

I was blessed to be referred to Indiana University Health and Dr. Patricia Kennedy. Surgery went smoothly and our next step was to meet with Dr. Jennifer Zook and discuss radiation. I already knew I didn’t want traditional radiation. My cancer was on my left breast and I was worred about damage to my heart and lungs. A very fortunate turn of events led to me being the first patient at IU to be offered the SAVI device as a treatment. When Dr. Zook explained the way the SAVI device worked, I just knew this was exactly what I wanted.

Cianna Medical had a local rep, Stephani, there when the device was placed at Dr. Kennedy’s office. She answered my questions and put my mind at ease before the procedure. I felt no pain during installation of the SAVI. The company sent a staff member ahead of my treatment to train the radiology staff at IU Cancer Center where I would be going daily to receive my treatment.

Every day I would have an x-ray to make sure the placement was still correct and then radiation. Stephani was there for many of my treatments. I experienced no pain when the SAVI was placed, no pain during the treatments, and no pain when the SAVI was removed.

I am so grateful I was able to have SAVI and would like to thank Cianna Medical for the care and concern from Cammie and Stephani.
